Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, products, and services, negotiating the best possible terms and prices.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production to forecast demands and prevent shortages.
- Maintain strong, professional relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
- Research and analyze market trends to identify new products, suppliers, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Resolve issues with suppliers, such as delivery delays, quality discrepancies, or pricing disputes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand specific needs and optimize procurement strategies.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of sustainable and ethical sourcing practices.
- Manage and track supplier performance, conducting regular reviews to ensure service level agreements are met.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar procurement role (4+ years)
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
