Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial escrow files from opening to closing.
  • Prepare all necessary escrow documents, including settlement statements, deeds, and other closing-related paperwork.
  • Review contracts, title commitments, and lender instructions to ensure all conditions are met and executed accurately.
  • Disburse funds and record documents in accordance with escrow instructions and legal requirements.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with real estate agents, lenders, buyers, sellers, and other parties involved in the transaction.
  • Resolve complex escrow-related issues, discrepancies, and inquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing escrow and real estate transactions.
  • Maintain a high level of client satisfaction through exceptional service and clear communication throughout the closing process.
  • Handle all funds held in escrow with the utmost care, ensuring proper accounting and reconciliation.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Escrow Officer or Escrow Assistant with closing responsibilities.
  • Proven knowledge of escrow principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of real estate closing documents and legal descriptions.
  • Proficiency in escrow software (e.g., Qualia, RamQuest, SoftPro) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High degree of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Notary Public commission in Michigan.
  • Title insurance license.
  • Experience with complex commercial real estate transactions.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
