Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain accurate daily attendance records using designated systems.
  • Monitor attendance patterns, identify persistent absenteeism, and investigate reasons.
  • Liaise with individuals, managers, and external agencies to resolve attendance issues proactively and supportively.
  • Generate regular attendance reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with internal attendance policies and relevant data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR).
  • Provide guidance and support on attendance policies and procedures.
  • Conduct return-to-work interviews and maintain records of these discussions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to improve attendance.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in an administrative or attendance management role.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data management systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional and empathetic approach.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant administrative qualification or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working within an educational or similar institutional setting.
  • Knowledge of UK employment law pertaining to attendance.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
