Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize daily routes for drivers and field personnel using advanced routing software.
- Monitor route progress in real-time and make necessary adjustments due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., traffic, road closures, urgent requests).
- Communicate effectively and proactively with drivers, dispatchers, and customer service to relay important information and resolve routing issues.
- Analyze route data, delivery metrics, and operational performance to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating vehicle maintenance and availability to ensure operational readiness.
- Provide clear instructions and support to drivers regarding their assigned routes and special delivery instructions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of routes, deliveries, and any operational incidents.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of contingency plans for operational disruptions.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in route optimization software (e.g., Roadnet, Omnitracs, ArcGIS, or similar).
- Strong geographical knowledge of Lansing, MI, and surrounding areas.
