Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of warehouse associates, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular safety briefings and training.
  • Optimize space utilization and inventory management through effective layout planning and cycle counting.
  • Monitor and manage team performance, conducting regular feedback sessions and performance reviews.
  • Operate and maintain various material handling equipment safely, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Implement and maintain quality control standards, minimizing errors and damage.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions to maintain efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless flow of goods and information.
  • Assist in the training of new team members, ensuring they are proficient in their roles and understand company procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and staff activities.

Required Skills

  • Proven leadership and team management abilities (minimum 3 years in a supervisory role).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Thorough knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Valid forklift operator certification (reach truck, counterbalance).
  • Experience with Lean principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
