Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a proactive and skilled Cybersecurity Analyst to join our dedicated team in Point Grey, Vancouver, for an immediate start. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for security alerts and anomalies.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of security incidents, identifying root causes and recommending remediation actions.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, documenting findings and tracking remediation efforts.
- Develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures in line with industry best practices.
- Participate in incident response activities, including containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident analysis.
- Administer and maintain security tools and technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and data loss prevention (DLP) systems.
- Educate and train employees on cybersecurity best practices and awareness.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the company's security posture and incident response plan.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, ELK Stack)
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and web technologies
- Experience with vulnerability scanning and penetration testing tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, Metasploit)
- Knowledge of common security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
- Experience in incident response and forensic analysis
- Familiarity with cloud security principles (e.g., AWS, Azure)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a cybersecurity role
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
