Job Description

In this critical role, you will be instrumental in forecasting product demand, ensuring optimal inventory levels, and driving efficient operational planning. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and refine demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for various time horizons using statistical models and market intelligence.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, product development, and finance teams to gather insights and validate demand forecasts.
  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, promotional activities, and economic conditions to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Identify and address significant forecast variances, understanding root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Participate in S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) meetings, presenting demand plans and highlighting potential risks and opportunities.
  • Manage inventory levels to meet service level targets while minimizing excess and obsolete stock.
  • Utilize ERP and demand planning software to generate, review, and adjust forecasts.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as forecast accuracy, bias, and inventory turns, reporting on performance and recommending improvements.
  • Support new product introductions and product discontinuations by integrating relevant demand assumptions into the planning process.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a Demand Planning or Supply Chain Analyst role (minimum 2 years).
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Proficiency in demand planning software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDA, Kinaxis).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis functions).
  • Understanding of supply chain principles, inventory management, and S&OP processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
  • Experience with predictive analytics tools or business intelligence platforms.
  • Previous experience in the manufacturing, retail, or FMCG industry.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma principles.
