This is a pivotal role where you will be instrumental in managing a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial properties, ensuring seamless operations, tenant satisfaction, and optimal property performance. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for property owners, tenants, and service providers. You’ll be responsible for everything from lease administration and financial reporting to coordinating maintenance and enforcing property policies. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of property operations for a designated portfolio, including residential and commercial units.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for tenants, addressing inquiries, concerns, and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Oversee tenant relations, including lease negotiations, renewals, move-ins, and move-outs, ensuring high retention rates.
  • Coordinate and supervise maintenance, repairs, and capital improvement projects, managing vendors and contractors.
  • Prepare and manage property budgets, financial reports, and rent collection, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards, lease agreements, and property aesthetics.
  • Market vacant properties, screen prospective tenants, and complete all necessary leasing documentation.
  • Enforce lease terms and property rules, handling disputes and evictions in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with property owners, providing regular updates and strategic recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant housing laws, building codes, and local regulations.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3-5 years of direct property management experience.
  • Proven ability to manage a diverse property portfolio.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of property management software (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio, or similar).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Solid knowledge of residential tenancy acts and relevant property legislation in British Columbia.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Real Estate License or Property Management designation (e.g., Strata Manager or Rental Property Manager license in BC).
  • Experience with both residential and commercial property management.
  • A track record of successful tenant retention and property value enhancement.
  • Familiarity with the North Vancouver real estate market.
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Real Estate, or a related field.
