Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Network Administrator to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the seamless operation, security, and performance of our extensive network infrastructure, supporting both internal systems and client-facing services. Key Responsibilities
- Manage, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and optimal performance across all network segments (LAN, WAN, VPN).
- Implement and enforce network security policies and procedures, including firewall rules, VPN access, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Perform regular network audits, vulnerability assessments, and implement necessary security patches and upgrades.
- Participate in the planning, design, and implementation of network infrastructure projects and expansions.
- Maintain accurate network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and inventory.
- Provide on-call support for critical network incidents outside of regular business hours as part of a rotation.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of network services with servers, applications, and cloud platforms.
- Evaluate new network technologies and make recommendations for improvements to enhance network efficiency and security.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in network administration or a similar role.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).
- Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, or Aruba.
- Extensive experience with firewall administration (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks, FortiGate).
- Strong knowledge of VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL VPN) and remote access solutions.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Zabbix).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for complex network issues.
- Solid understanding of network security best practices and principles.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with cloud networking concepts and platforms (AWS VPC, Azure VNet).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for network automation.
- Familiarity with SD-WAN technologies.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
- Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems.
