Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive housing needs assessments for individuals and families at risk of homelessness.
- Provide expert advice on housing options, welfare benefits, and relevant legislation to prevent homelessness.
- Develop and implement personalised housing prevention plans, including negotiation with landlords and creditors.
- Advocate for clients with external agencies, including social services, mental health teams, and employment support.
- Manage a diverse caseload, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Respond effectively to urgent and crisis situations, providing immediate support and signposting to emergency services.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings to ensure a holistic approach to client support.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in housing legislation, welfare reforms, and local support services.
- Empower clients by providing information and resources to help them maintain their tenancies and secure long-term housing solutions.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in housing advice, homelessness prevention, or a related field (minimum 2 years).
- Strong knowledge of housing law, welfare benefits, and local authority housing obligations.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a complex caseload.
- High level of empathy, resilience, and a non-judgmental approach.
- Proficiency in using case management systems and standard office software.

Preferred Qualifications
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Housing, Social Work, Law, or a related discipline.
