As an Estate Services Officer, you will be the primary point of contact for residents on a designated patch, building strong relationships and fostering a sense of ownership within the community. Your daily activities will span a wide range, from conducting regular estate inspections to identify maintenance needs, managing contractor performance, and addressing resident queries and concerns efficiently. You will play a crucial role in monitoring communal areas, ensuring health and safety compliance, and proactively addressing anti-social behaviour through collaborative approaches.
This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a compassionate approach to tenant liaison. You will be responsible for overseeing cleaning, gardening, and general maintenance services, ensuring value for money and high-quality outcomes. Furthermore, you will be instrumental in identifying opportunities for estate improvements and engaging residents in decision-making processes, empowering them to shape their living spaces. Effective communication, both written and verbal, is paramount, as you will be preparing reports, maintaining accurate records, and liaising with various internal departments and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular estate inspections across designated areas to identify maintenance needs, cleanliness issues, and health and safety concerns.
- Act as the primary point of contact for residents, addressing their enquiries, concerns, and complaints efficiently and professionally.
- Manage and monitor the performance of external contractors for cleaning, gardening, and general maintenance services, ensuring high standards are met.
- Proactively address and report instances of anti-social behaviour, working collaboratively with residents, internal teams, and external agencies.
- Ensure all communal areas are well-maintained, safe, and compliant with relevant health and safety regulations.
- Engage with residents through various channels to promote community cohesion, gather feedback, and encourage participation in estate improvement initiatives.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, maintain accurate records, and manage relevant documentation related to estate management activities.
- Identify opportunities for estate improvements and work with management to implement new projects that enhance resident living standards.
- Liaise effectively with internal departments such as housing, repairs, and allocations, as well as external partners and community groups.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective resident and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities, with a customer-focused approach.
- Proven ability to manage a varied workload, prioritise tasks, and work effectively under pressure.
- Basic understanding of property maintenance principles and health & safety regulations.
- Proficiency in using IT systems, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Full UK Driving License and access to a vehicle for travel across the estate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar estate management, housing, or community services role.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., NVQ in Housing, CIH qualification or equivalent).
- Knowledge of relevant housing legislation, policies, and best practices.
- Experience with community engagement initiatives and resident participation programs.
