Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems for anomalies, alerts, and potential breaches, responding promptly to security incidents.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests on internal and external systems to identify and mitigate risks.
- Implement, configure, and manage security tools and technologies, including firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
- Develop, update, and enforce cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices in alignment with industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Perform forensic analysis on compromised systems and assist in post-incident reviews to prevent future occurrences.
- Provide security awareness training to employees, fostering a security-conscious culture within the organization.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security into the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) and infrastructure projects.
- Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, recommending proactive measures to enhance security posture.
- Manage identity and access management (IAM) systems, ensuring least privilege principles are applied effectively.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in security operations, incident response, and threat analysis.
- Strong knowledge of network security protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, SMTP) and concepts (firewalls, VPNs, proxies).
- Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM platforms (Splunk, ELK, QRadar), vulnerability scanners (Nessus, Qualys), and penetration testing tools (Kali Linux, Metasploit).
- Experience with cloud security principles and practices (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, Linux) and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell).
- Understanding of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure during security incidents.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining complex security issues to non-technical stakeholders.
