Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security systems for anomalies, alerts, and potential breaches, responding promptly to security incidents.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests on internal and external systems to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Implement, configure, and manage security tools and technologies, including firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
  • Develop, update, and enforce cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices in alignment with industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Perform forensic analysis on compromised systems and assist in post-incident reviews to prevent future occurrences.
  • Provide security awareness training to employees, fostering a security-conscious culture within the organization.
  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security into the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) and infrastructure projects.
  • Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, recommending proactive measures to enhance security posture.
  • Manage identity and access management (IAM) systems, ensuring least privilege principles are applied effectively.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in security operations, incident response, and threat analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of network security protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, SMTP) and concepts (firewalls, VPNs, proxies).
  • Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM platforms (Splunk, ELK, QRadar), vulnerability scanners (Nessus, Qualys), and penetration testing tools (Kali Linux, Metasploit).
  • Experience with cloud security principles and practices (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, Linux) and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell).
  • Understanding of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure during security incidents.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining complex security issues to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, CEH).
  • Experience with security architecture design and review.
