Job Description
Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented GIS Technician to join our growing team in Downtown, Novi. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual passionate about geospatial technology to contribute to diverse and impactful projects, driving significant value for our clients across various sectors including urban planning, environmental management, infrastructure development, and utilities. As a GIS Technician, you will play a crucial role in the collection, processing, analysis, and visualization of spatial data, supporting critical decision-making processes.
Your daily activities will involve working with various industry-standard GIS software platforms, including Esri ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, and potentially AutoCAD Map 3D, to create, edit, and maintain geographic datasets. You’ll be responsible for digitizing features from aerial imagery, performing geocoding and georeferencing tasks, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our extensive spatial databases. A keen eye for detail is paramount, as you will be performing rigorous quality control checks on data to guarantee its reliability and consistency for subsequent analysis and mapping applications. You will also assist in developing and maintaining geodatabases, ensuring data standards and metadata requirements are met.
Beyond fundamental data manipulation, you will also be involved in preparing professional-grade maps, charts, reports, and presentations that effectively communicate complex spatial information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This requires not only technical proficiency but also strong communication skills to articulate your findings clearly. This role requires a blend of technical acumen, meticulous problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively within a dynamic, project-oriented environment. You will work closely with GIS Analysts, Project Managers, Engineers, and other specialists, contributing your expertise to every stage of a project lifecycle, from initial data acquisition to final deliverable creation.
We are looking for someone who is not just proficient with GIS tools, but also eager to learn new technologies, scripting languages (like Python for geoprocessing), and methodologies within the rapidly evolving geospatial industry. If you thrive in an environment where your analytical skills are constantly challenged, and you enjoy translating raw data into meaningful visual representations that drive real-world solutions, then Hiring.zycto offers a stimulating and rewarding career path. Come be a part of a team that is shaping the future with location intelligence and making a tangible difference through innovative geospatial solutions.
