Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a talented and driven Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Kamloops, BC. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of mechanical systems and product development, from conceptual design and detailed engineering to prototyping, testing, and implementation. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test mechanical components, systems, and equipment, adhering to engineering principles and company standards.
- Conduct detailed engineering analyses, including stress, thermal, and fluid dynamics using simulation software (e.g., FEA, CFD).
- Create and review technical drawings, specifications, and documentation using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (electrical, software, manufacturing) to integrate mechanical designs into broader systems.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring timely delivery of engineering tasks.
- Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and implementing necessary revisions.
- Oversee the prototyping and testing phases, analyzing results and making design improvements.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and production teams during product realization.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 3+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and development.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA).
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other simulation tools.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or eligibility to register in British Columbia.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Prior experience in a relevant industry such as automotive, aerospace, heavy equipment, or renewable energy.
- Project management experience.
