Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company vehicle to deliver goods to customers within the specified delivery area.
- Plan and execute delivery routes to maximize efficiency and meet scheduled delivery times.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify accurate order fulfillment against delivery manifests and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery.
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions, addressing any inquiries or concerns professionally.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine inspections (e.g., fuel, oil, tires) to ensure safe operation.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations at all times.
- Report any vehicle issues, accidents, or incidents promptly to management.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and potential delays.
Required Skills
- Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver's License (or equivalent).
- Clean driving record (driver's abstract required).
- Minimum 6 months of professional driving experience.
- Excellent knowledge of New Westminster and surrounding areas.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable, punctual, and highly responsible.
- Customer-focused with strong communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with GPS navigation systems and delivery management software.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience working in a fast-paced delivery or logistics environment.
