Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on a variety of industrial machinery and facility components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
- Execute timely and effective repairs, adjustments, and installations of equipment.
- Read and accurately interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams.
- Maintain precise and detailed maintenance records, logs, and work orders using CMMS.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate closely with production and operations teams to identify and resolve maintenance-related issues, minimizing downtime.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Participate in on-call rotations for emergency repairs and respond promptly to critical breakdowns.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure all equipment meets operational standards.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar industrial role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and exceptional diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in electrical systems, including PLC troubleshooting, motor controls, and industrial wiring.
- Experience with welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) and basic fabrication techniques.
- Ability to safely and proficiently use a wide range of hand and power tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Red Seal certification in a relevant trade (e.g., Industrial Mechanic (Millwright), Electrician).
- Experience utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Certification for forklift operation and aerial work platforms (e.g., boom lift, scissor lift).
- Up-to-date First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma principles.
