Hiring.zycto is actively seeking dedicated and meticulous Production Operators to join our fast-paced manufacturing facility in Whalley, Surrey. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production machinery and equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Perform routine quality checks on products throughout the manufacturing process, identifying and reporting any defects or non-conformities.
- Load and unload materials and products from machines, ensuring correct components are used.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to 5S principles and general housekeeping standards.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimise downtime.
- Complete production logs and documentation accurately and in a timely manner, including recording output, quality data, and material consumption.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations, participating in regular safety briefings.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs to enhance skills and operational efficiency.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including counting and reporting material usage and stock levels.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proven ability to operate production machinery and follow detailed instructions.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor machine adjustments and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to articulate issues and report progress.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 25kg and stand for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field.
- Forklift truck license (e.g., counterbalance or reach truck) with relevant experience.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen) and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Previous experience in a regulated industry (e.g., food, pharmaceutical, automotive) with strict compliance requirements.
- First Aid certification or willingness to undergo training.
