Key Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and secure new shipper clients through prospecting, cold calling, and networking.
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with both shippers and carriers.
- Negotiate freight rates, terms, and conditions with carriers to optimize profitability while ensuring competitive pricing for clients.
- Match customer freight with available carriers, ensuring efficient and timely delivery.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of shipments, including booking, dispatching, tracking, and resolving any issues that arise.
- Monitor market trends, assess competitive landscapes, and adapt strategies to maximize sales and service.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and other software tools to manage logistics operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving complaints promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience as a Freight Broker or in a similar logistics sales role.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and close deals.
- Strong understanding of freight market dynamics, shipping regulations, and carrier operations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in using transportation management systems (TMS) and CRM software.
- Results-oriented with a strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume workload.
Preferred Qualifications
