Job Description

Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a diligent and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in Newton, Surrey. This is an immediate hiring opportunity for a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our daily warehouse and distribution operations. As a Forklift Operator, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth flow of goods, from receiving shipments to organizing inventory and preparing outgoing orders. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate counterbalance, reach, or other specified forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve materials and products.
  • Load and unload trucks, trailers, and shipping containers, ensuring proper handling of all goods.
  • Transport materials to and from designated storage areas, loading docks, production lines, and shipping bays.
  • Accurately stack and organize products in the warehouse, optimizing space utilization while adhering to safety guidelines.
  • Perform daily pre-operation inspections on forklift equipment, documenting and reporting any mechanical issues or safety hazards.
  • Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts, stock rotation, and maintaining accurate records of material movement.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and provincial regulations for forklift operation and warehouse safety.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, ensuring aisles are clear and products are properly stored.
  • Collaborate effectively with warehouse staff, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient logistical operations.
  • Identify and report any product damage, discrepancies, or unsafe conditions promptly to management.

Required Skills

  • Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., Counterbalance, Reach Truck, Order Picker)
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience operating forklifts in a busy warehouse or distribution center environment
  • Comprehensive understanding of warehouse safety procedures and material handling best practices
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly and perform other physically demanding tasks
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and inventory scanning
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or similar inventory tracking software
  • Familiarity with various types of material handling equipment beyond forklifts
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for minor equipment troubleshooting
  • Previous experience in a logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain setting
  • First Aid and CPR certification
