As our Import Export Coordinator, you will be the linchpin in our international supply chain operations. You will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of import and export processes, from documentation and customs clearance to freight forwarding and compliance. Your day-to-day will involve preparing and processing a variety of shipping documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin. You will also be tasked with ensuring strict adherence to international trade regulations, customs laws, and company policies, minimizing risks and maximizing efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all phases of international import and export shipments, including ocean, air, and ground freight.
- Prepare, review, and process all necessary shipping documentation, such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, AES filings, and customs declarations.
- Ensure strict compliance with U.S. and international import/export laws, regulations (e.g., ITAR, EAR), and company policies.
- Liaise effectively with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, vendors, and internal departments to facilitate timely and efficient delivery.
- Track and trace shipments, provide status updates to stakeholders, and resolve any issues or delays proactively.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all import/export activities and documentation for audit purposes.
- Process customs clearance documentation and resolve any discrepancies or issues with customs authorities.
- Optimize shipping routes and methods to reduce costs and improve delivery times.
- Participate in identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities within the logistics and supply chain processes.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in import/export operations or international logistics.
- Proficiency in preparing and processing international shipping documentation.
- Strong understanding of U.S. and international customs regulations, Incoterms, and trade compliance.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Problem-solving aptitude with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and logistics software.
- Customs Brokerage License (CHB) or equivalent certification.
