Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research of public records, including deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, and other legal documents to establish property ownership and identify potential title defects.
  • Examine and interpret complex legal descriptions, surveys, and plats to accurately delineate property boundaries and interests.
  • Prepare comprehensive title commitments, reports, and policies detailing property ownership, encumbrances, and requirements for clear title.
  • Identify and resolve title issues, collaborating with attorneys, lenders, real estate agents, and other stakeholders to clear exceptions and facilitate closings.
  • Maintain meticulous records and documentation throughout the examination process, ensuring compliance with state regulations and company policies.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly and professionally to internal teams and external clients.
  • Stay updated on changes in real estate laws, regulations, and industry best practices relevant to title examination.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Title Examiner or in a related real estate legal support role.
  • In-depth knowledge of real estate principles, land records, and legal terminology.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent research and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in using title examination software and public record databases.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
