Key Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with non-dispensing tasks, ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Manage inventory, including receiving, unpacking, and stocking medications and supplies.
  • Organize and maintain the pharmacy area, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to safety standards.
  • Process patient prescriptions, including data entry and preparing labels, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Handle cash register operations, process payments, and manage co-pays accurately.
  • Provide excellent customer service, answering patient inquiries and directing them to the pharmacist when necessary.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere strictly to all HIPAA regulations and pharmacy policies.
  • Assist with the preparation and packaging of prescription orders for pickup or delivery.
  • Support administrative tasks such as filing, record-keeping, and managing phone calls.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive and collaborative team environment.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in a customer service or administrative role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency and experience with POS systems.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, healthcare, or retail setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical products.
  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Assistant (where applicable by state law).
  • Familiarity with pharmacy management software.
