As a Millwright Apprentice, you will be an integral part of our maintenance team, assisting journeymen with a wide range of tasks involving the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist Journeyman Millwrights with the installation, dismantling, repair, and overhaul of machinery and heavy equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks, including lubrication, inspection, and cleaning of industrial machinery.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and detailed repair specifications.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues under supervision, identifying root causes and assisting with effective solutions.
- Operate various hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Document maintenance and repair activities accurately.
- Participate actively in training and development programs to advance skills and knowledge.
- Support team members with various tasks as required.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent (or working towards it)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional willingness to learn and accept instruction
- Basic understanding of tools and machinery
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects and work in various positions
- Commitment to safety practices and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Enrollment or completion of a pre-apprenticeship program in a related trade
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting (even volunteer or casual)
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract
- Basic welding or fabrication experience
- First Aid certification
