Key Responsibilities
- Install solar panel racking systems and solar panels on various roof types and ground mounts.
- Perform electrical wiring of solar arrays, inverters, and monitoring systems.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, local building codes, and company installation standards.
- Conduct site preparation, including minor roofing work, trenching, and ground mount assembly.
- Work collaboratively with the installation crew to ensure efficient and high-quality project completion.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any installation issues that may arise during the project.
- Maintain a clean and organized work site, ensuring proper disposal of waste materials.
- Communicate effectively with team leads and project managers regarding project status and potential challenges.
- Assist with material loading, unloading, and staging at job sites.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in solar installation, general construction, or roofing.
- Proficiency with basic hand and power tools common to solar installation.
- Ability to work at heights on rooftops and comfortable with ladder usage.
- Strong understanding of basic electrical principles and safety procedures.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs regularly) and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- NABCEP PV Associate credential or higher.
- Experience with various solar inverter technologies (e.g., string, microinverters, optimizers).
- Familiarity with local electrical codes and permitting processes in Michigan.
- Vocational training or certifications in electrical, construction, or renewable energy.
