Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete procurement cycle from requisition to order placement and delivery.
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, products, and services.
  • Evaluate supplier performance, quality, and prices to ensure best value.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and prices with suppliers to secure optimal agreements.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Process purchase orders and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with relevant departments to forecast needs.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, ethical guidelines, and legal requirements.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
  • Resolve issues with suppliers regarding quality, delivery, and invoicing.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar role (minimum 3 years).
  • Solid knowledge of procurement best practices, principles, and procedures.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CIPS qualification (or working towards it).
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in a fast-paced or rapidly growing industry sector.
